the opening

yesterday my Quilt group had a sewing day and opening of our 'friendship block' boxes. I was in 2 swaps, and initial swap and a theme swap. I was lucky to receive some very beautiful blocks.
I asked for Christmas as my themed blocks and I intend to make them into place mats and my initial blocks are S, and these are to be a quilt for my daughter in law Sarah.

There are actually a couple more blocks but I have managed to delete the photos somehow! But, believe me they are equally as nice.

My Christmas ones are all fabulous and will make great placemats. I already have a set of placemats but they are a bit large for my table and my daughter has her eye on them anyway so a new set will be good.
We had a lovely day, with everyone very happy with their blocks and ready to make plans for them. I hope we do it again next year.

  2. You got all these blocks? How many did you have to make in return! Each block is beautiful, the ladies put a lot of effort into making nice blocks for you!
